Who Will Inspire Us Next?

Our CEO, Steve Papermaster, has been selected to speak at the World Entrepreneur of the Year event in Monte Carlo, Monaco next month for the session “Opportunities and Challenges: Asia and Africa Offer Both”. This panel will discuss growth patterns in the two regions for business leaders looking to expand into emerging markets. EY has invited Steve to speak as a previous winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year award in Austin, Texas, a past judge for U.S. Entrepreneur of the Year, and a co-chairman of the first judging panel for the World Entrepreneur of the Year. EY's World Entrepreneur of the Year event, deemed as the “Oscars of business”, is a celebration that recognizes the top founders of companies from countries around the world in a four day, multimillion-dollar affair. Entrepreneurs formally recognized on a regional status, continue on to compete at the national level, and are then exclusively invited to participate in the final global ceremony held annually in Monte Carlo. World Entrepreneur of the Year has awarded top leaders including: founder and CEO of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberte, founder and chairman of Infosys Technologies, Narayana Murthy, and founder and CEO of Chobani, Hamdi Ulukaya. Along with presenting the World Entrepreneur, the event also includes insightful sessions, world-class entertainment, and substantial networking opportunities with top entrepreneurs from around the globe. Presentation interviews and topics typically cover areas of: private equity, workforce of the future, global business leaders, giving back to the community, and more. Keynoting the overall function is television personality, businesswoman, and former model, Martha Stewart.

We’re also happy to announce Powershift friends, Ross Perot Jr., Chairman of The Perot Companies and Hillwood, and Ken Goldman, Yahoo CFO and Moxie Software board member, will speak at World Entrepreneur 2014 as well. For a list of other speakers click here.
