One of the most rewarding aspects of a career in human resources is matching talented people with great job opportunities that invite them to stretch toward their fullest potential while working alongside creative and dedicated peers. Over the past several months at Powershift and Powershift companies, we’ve regularly been adding super smart team members as interns, contractors, remote developers, and full-time hires. We’re continuing to add to the team at a steady pace and we’ll increase the velocity of hiring in the not too distant future as things take off for Appconomy and Nano Global Corp.
Powershift Exchange Coming Soon
Next, we are ramping up our US/China exchange intern program under the new name Powershift Exchange. Our first 2015 exchange intern, Michela arrives in Austin this weekend. Michela will be with us for just three short months, but she’ll help us kick off the program and iron out any wrinkles. Currently Sophia Zheng, our Director of China Operation is recruiting a group of interns to arrive in Austin this summer and stay with us for 9-12 months. We plan to have a new group of 3-4 interns arrive each quarter, allowing for some overlap of the groups.
Exchange interns will be recent college graduates andcurrently enrolled college students with academic preparation in Computer Science and various marketing and business functions. Of the past dozen or so exchange interns we’ve had in Austin and Shanghai, 20% have become regular full time employees and the others have gone on to enjoy enhanced careers and are valuable friends of Powershift.
A Director of Product and Channel Management for Nano, and a great group of interns. That’s the view from the recruiting desk. Of course, hiring needs evolve constantly so stay tuned.
